My essay is about the history of school buses. I wasn’t that interested in this subject but I thought it was a good idea. Plus most the ideas were taken by my fellow students. People who ride school buses or use to, might be interested about what I have to say.
School buses since1827 have students and adolescents from and to school. School buses have also been know as omnibus. The first school bus was horse-drawn, introduced in 1827 by George Shillibeer for a Quaker school at Abney Park in Stoke Newington, London, United Kingdom and was designed to carry 25 children. The bus has then become a major mode of transportation, particularly for transporting children to school.
School buses over the years, in the United States and Canada, have been colored “yellow-orange” color for visibility issues and safety. The color is know as “ National School Bus Chrome Yellow.” In North America, however, the school bus is itself a specific type of bus distinct from other buses. Over the years school buses have improved there traffic warning signs such as “STOP.” Full-sized school buses these days can hold up to 59 to 90 passengers in a single bus.
Early school buses differ very much from modern day ones. The first actual school bus was created by Wayne Works. In the bodies for school transportation the company produced through this era, passengers sat on perimeter seating, facing the center instead of the front of the bus. Entry was through a door in the rear. Wayne works was one of the first to use glass windows instead of canvas curtains in the passenger area. Early
school buses, like what Wayne Works created, were mainly used in rural areas instead of urban.
I hope you enjoyed reading my essay on school buses. Even though I don’t ride buses, I enjoyed writing about them. The subject, school buses was actually very interesting. This was also one of my first resource pages I have ever done. How do you guys, who are reading, think I did?
